I do not have a windshield mount, will TotalPave IRI still work?
Only windshield mounts with sturdy mounting arms are recommended. Results obtained using other styles of phone mount, including dash, vent, or alternative methods like putting your phone in a cupholder or passenger seat, are not tested and cannot be guaranteed.
How does vehicle suspension affect the results?
As long as the test vehicle is in good repair, varying vehicles will not adversely affect the results.
Can I send or receive messages / phone calls while recording data?
Do not interact with the device in any way while recording data. Interacting with the device will cause excess vibrations and produce inaccurate results. It is recommended that you put your phone on "Do Not Disturb" mode while collecting data to avoid interruption.
I recorded data for a section but it has not shown up on the portal?
Note that normally IRI data will take up to 15 minutes to be displayed on the web portal. Processing time can be significantly higher depending on server traffic.
Also ensure you have driven the entire section. During data logging, the GPS data is logged to determine when you have hit the start and end points of the section and then the IRI can be calculated for that section. If the GPS indicates you have not sufficiently covered the section, IRI will not be calculated.
How long can a single log be?
Maximum logging time for an individual log varies depending on the hardware of your device. It is recommended that logging be kept at a maximum of 1 to 1.5 hours for an individual log to avoid data loss.
My phone is not connected to a 3G/4G network, will I be able to survey?
Records are stored locally on the phone, therefore you can survey without access to 3G/4G networks. It is however recommended that data be left on to increase the accuracy of the GPS data.
How do I get an account?
Accounts are created on your organization’s web portal under the “Settings” tab in the sidebar. Please contact your TotalPave system administrator for help.
